On February 12, 2026, Howard Hughes Communities, Harris County, and the Houston Texans announced Toro District — an 83-acre sports and entertainment destination within Bridgeland Central in Cypress TX. Specifically, the project centers on a 22-acre state-of-the-art global headquarters and training complex for the Texans, making Northwest Harris County the permanent operational home of one of the NFL’s most visible franchises.

The broader Toro District will encompass retail, restaurants, hotel accommodations, entertainment venues, commercial office, and medical facilities — all within Bridgeland Central’s 925-acre urban core. Furthermore, the project is projected to generate approximately $34 billion in long-term economic impact and create more than 17,000 jobs over time. Harris County’s involvement as a public-private partnership partner provides institutional validation for a development of this scale. For Cypress residents and property owners, this is the most significant commercial development announcement in the corridor’s history.

The H-E-B at Village Green in Bridgeland Central is open, anchoring a 100,000+ square foot grocery and retail development near Bridgeland Creek Parkway and Summit Point Crossing. Specifically, 28,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space surrounds the H-E-B, with outdoor patio dining areas and direct connections to Bridgeland’s trail network. The modern agrarian architecture of Village Green is setting the design standard for the rest of the 925-acre Bridgeland Central commercial district.

Additionally, Chevron U.S.A. acquired over 77 acres in Bridgeland Central in 2023 for a corporate campus, and the first mass timber office building in Greater Houston broke ground in May 2025. Consequently, Bridgeland Central is transitioning from a planning concept to a functioning commercial district faster than most observers anticipated, with the Toro District announcement accelerating that trajectory significantly.

Cypress Christian School opened its brand-new 44-acre Bridgeland campus on September 3, 2025, adding a 165,000 square foot private K-12 option to the Cypress corridor for the first time within a master-planned community. Additionally, Dunham Pointe continues its active buildout as one of the newest major master-planned communities in Cypress, with residential development phases and amenity infrastructure progressing through 2026.

The Grand Parkway expansion and ongoing improvements to US-290 and Beltway 8 continue to improve connectivity across the Cypress corridor. Furthermore, Towne Lake’s final luxury subdivision phases from Partners in Building are completing, representing the culmination of that community’s 15+ year build-out. Notably, the Berry Center — CFISD’s multi-use sports complex — continues to serve as a regional events hub for concerts, sporting events, theater, and community gatherings for Cypress residents.
